Maurice Zager
Maurice Zager, 93, of Pompton Plains died Jan. 20, 2015. Born in Columbus, Ga., he grew up in the Bronx and lived in Manhattan and then in the Bronx’s Riverdale section before moving to Delray Beach, Fla., where he lived for over 20 years.
Mr. Zager, known mostly as “Ziggy,” was the director of royalty administration for Chappell Music Publishing Company in New York City.
He served in World War II and was stationed in Florence and Rome.
While living in Florida, he sang in the Lakes of Delray Chorale.
Predeceased by his wife, Sally, whom he married in 1943, he is survived by his daughter, Marian (Robert) Lowenfish of Pine Brook; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 22 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton.
