Marvin Maltz

Marvin Maltz, 83, of Hillside died Oct. 3, 2012. Born in Newark, he lived in Hillside for 57 years.

Mr. Maltz was the owner and operator of the Leisure Arts Center in Springfield for 37 years, retiring four years ago.

He studied art and music at Kean University for many years.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the seniors’ group at the YM-YWHA of Union County, Union.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Collen); two daughters, Jane Smith of Cranford and Lynne Davis of Clark; two sons, Jon of Hillside and Michael of Lebanon Borough; a sister, Florence Radowitz of Livingston; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 5 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Father Hudson House, 111 DeHart Place, Elizabeth, NJ 07202.
