Martin Godel
Dr. Martin Godel, 93, of Marlton died March 19, 2014. He lived in Livingston for many years.
Dr. Godel was the chief of orthodontics at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, where he was on staff for 30 years.
He received his BS from City University of New York and a DDS and degree in orthodontics from New York University’s College of Dentistry.
He was a captain in the U.S. Army, serving in both World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Temple Emanuel in Cherry Hill.
Predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Rita, he is survived by his daughter, Lois Godel Silverman (Jay); his son, Jeffrey (Vicky); a brother, Julius; and four grandchildren.
Services were held March 21 with arrangements by Platt Memorial Chapels, Inc., Cherry Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to American Jewish World Service, Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
