Martin Castelbaum
Dr. Martin Castelbaum of Bondville, Vt., formerly of West Caldwell, died April 12, 2016. He was born in Newark. Dr. Castelbaum practiced internal medicine in Caldwell for 30 years. He was the Medical Staff President and Director of Education at Montclair Community Hospital and was also affiliated with Mountainside Hospital.
He graduated from Weequahic High School in 1950, Bucknell University in 1954, and Wake Forest/Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1958. Following an internship at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City, he completed an internal medicine residency at the NJ College of Medicine.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Weinberger Castelbaum; his son, Arthur (Debra); three daughters, Amy (Richard) Benedikt, Jill Azulay, and Susan (Jeff) Rona; two sisters, Mimi Korn and Sue Weinberger; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held April 15 at Temple Sholom in Cedar Grove with arrangements by J.L. Apter Memorial Chapels of Cedar Grove.
