Marjorie Grossbarth
Marjorie Grossbarth, 88, of Springfield died Sept. 28, 2018. Born in Newark, she lived in Union and Springfield for 49 years, moving to her latest resident 12 years ago.
Mrs. Grossbarth worked as a social worker at East Orange General Hospital.
She earned a B.A. in psychology from Rutgers University in Newark and an M.A. in social work from Upsala College, East Orange.
She was the co-leader of the Renaissance Group at Temple Sha’arey Shalom for 24 years, a life master of Bridge, past president of the Sandmeier PTA and Temple Sha’arey Shalom (1983-1985), a member of ORT, and a band parent of the Jonathan Dayton Regional High School Band.
Predeceased by her husband, Martin, she is survived by two daughters, Ellen Scheps of Mountainside and Nancy Grossbarth of Union, and extended family.
Services were held Oct. 3 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
