Marion Katz (Linczer), 69, of Verona and Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Upper Montclair, died Nov. 4, 2011. Born and raised in New York City, she lived in New Jersey for over 30 years.
Mrs. Katz spent the majority of her professional career as a senior research scientist at Hoffman-La Roche pharmaceuticals in Nutley. She worked extensively in oncology, dermatologics, and metabolic diseases.
She graduated from The City College of New York and obtained a master of science in microbiology at Boston University.
She was an active member and volunteer at Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Montclair, and was a life member of Hadassah.
Predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Armand, in 2009, she is survived by her son, Michael, and two brothers, Elliott and Kenneth Linczer.
Services were held Nov. 10 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association or Congregation Shomrei Emunah.
