Marilyn Shrensel
Marilyn Shrensel, 90, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Jan. 28, 2015. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Springfield for over 50 years before moving to Arizona in 2010.
Mrs. Shrensel worked at Bloomingdale’s in Short Hills.
She received a BA from New York University.
She was a founding member of Temple Sha’arey Shalom, Springfield and a past president of Springfield Hadassah. She was selected as a former Woman of the Year by the League of Women Voters.
Predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Julius, she is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Jay) Jacobs of Mesa, Ariz.; her son, David (Fruma) of Seattle; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 1 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Hadassah or the American Heart Association.
