Marilyn Lerner

Marilyn Lerner (Gordon), 83, of Highland Beach, Fla., died July 10, 2018. She grew up in Carteret and raised her family in Highland Park before retiring to Highland Beach, Fla.

She was the proprietor of Baracini Candy and Hallmark Store before retiring in 1999.

Mrs. Lerner was a graduate of Carteret High School and New York University School of Education.

She was a longtime member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth and a former sisterhood president. She was also a lifetime member of Hadassah and served on the Highland Park Library Board.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Judge Lawrence Lerner; her children, Jonathan (Sherri), Carol (Jonathan) Friedman, and Marci (Steve) Zeidwerg; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Services were held July 12 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lerner-Gordon Scholarship Fund at the Highland Park Conservative Temple.
