Marilyn Brafman
Marilyn P. Brafman (Perwin), 92, of West Orange died July 29, 2015. Born in Newark, she lived in South Orange, Livingston, and Wellington, Fla., before moving back to West Orange several years ago.
Mrs. Brafman was active in the community. She was past president of National Council of Jewish Women’s Essex County Section and received NCJW’s Hannah Solomon Award. She was also involved in the United Nations Association, Occupational Center of Orange, and Adopt a Family of West Palm Beach, Fla. She was recognized for her expertise of parliamentary procedures and her “ability to get things done.”
Predeceased by her husband of almost 70 years, Justin, she is survived by two sons, Andy (Arlene) of West Orange and Marty (Judy) of Cincinnati; her daughter, Ellen of Huntington, Long Island; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 31 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to NCJW or Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange.
