Marian Greenbaum Schiffer

Marian Greenbaum Schiffer, 64, of Hamilton died July 2, 2011. Born in the Bronx, she also had lived in Queens for two years and in Waterford, Conn., for 12 years.

Mrs. Schiffer taught elementary school in New York City and in Hamilton, retiring from Morgan Elementary School, where she was named Teacher of the Year, in 2009.

She graduated from Hunter College, New York City, with a BA and an MS, both in education.

She was an active member of Congregation Beth Chaim in Princeton Junction for more than 28 years, serving both as member and chairperson of several committees.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Stephen; two sons, Jeremy of Merion Station, Pa., and Matthew of Sebastopol, Calif.; and two grandsons.

Services were held July 5 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Congregation Beth Chaim.
