Margaret Heller
Margaret “Peggy” Heller (Mark) of New York City died April 16, 2019. Born in Nashville, Tenn., she came to New York as a young girl. She was a longtime resident of Madison.
Mrs. Heller graduated from Connecticut College.
Active in many charities, she was president of Family Service of Morris County, a national board member of the Alliance for Children and Families, vice president of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, board member of Daughters of Israel in West Orange and Hebrew Union College, and president of the Heller Family Foundation.
She received the Unsung Heroine’s Award for the Protection of the Elderly by Sen. Bill Bradley and the Thomas Kean Award for Outstanding Service to Senior Citizens. She also received the Outstanding Service Award of Family Service of Morris County and the New Jersey Volunteer Service Award for Children and Families.
She is survived by her husband, Martin, whom she married in 1958; two sons, Mark Heller and John Heller (Silvia Siller); her daughter, Jennifer Heller Wold (Keith C. Wold); and five grandchildren.
