M. Barry Nydick

M. Barry Nydick, 80, of Livingston died July 10, 2018. He was born in Elizabeth.

Mr. Nydick owned and operated The Country Store, a gourmet deli and liquor store, in Harding Township for 20 years.

He graduated from Franklin and Marshall College in 1960 and Rutgers School of Law in 1963.

An active member of Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, he served as president of the Jewish Education Association and on the board of the JCC MetroWest. He was an active member of Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell.

After his retirement, he read to the blind for EIES of NJ and taught ESL at the Livingston Library. He competed in the Boston, New York City, and numerous other marathons, triathlons, and races, and walked five miles daily.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marji; his children, Harris and Carol, Suzanne and Earl, and Andrew and Beth; a sister, Rosalind of Aventura, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Services were held July 12 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to the CAI Tribute Fund.
