Dr. Louis Rosenkranz, 99, of Union died Dec. 23, 2011. Born in Queens, he was a resident of Union for over 60 years.
Dr. Rosenkranz was in private practice, first in Glendale and then in Union.
He earned a doctor of optometry degree from Penn State University in 1938.
He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II from 1941 to 1945.
He was active in B’nai B’rith.
Predeceased by his wife, Honey (Anita), he is survived by his daughter, Lynda Herbert of Hartville, Ohio; his son, Ian of Santa Fe, NM; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 26 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
