Louis Richter

Louis Richter, 86, of Union died Sept. 15, 2012. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Jersey City and Elizabeth before moving to Union in 1969.

Mr. Richter was employed as a public accountant at the firm of Schwartz, Kirwin and Fauss in New York City for over 40 years, and maintained a private practice as well in New Jersey and New York.

He earned a BA degree in accounting from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the NJ Society of Public Accountants and was active in fund raising for St. Peter’s College.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice (Brandes); his son, Paul of Union; his daughter, Sharon Richter of Randolph; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Sept. 19 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
