Louis Gordon
Louis B. Gordon, 92, of Plainsboro died Aug. 14, 2018. Born in Beaumont, Texas, he lived in Whippany for 54 years prior to moving to Plainsboro a year ago.
Dr. Gordon was a Professor of Music at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, where he taught for 30 years until his retirement in 1993.
He received his bachelor of music degree in 1946 and master of music degree in 1947 from Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. He went on to earn his doctor of musical arts in 1962.
He served his country during World War II as an Army Air Corps cadet.
He was a member of the American Federation of Musicians and Temple B’nai Or, Morristown.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Alan (Judith Downer) and Joshua (Naomi Botkin); and two grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 16 with arrangements by Dangler Funeral Home, Morris Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastman School of Music Scholarship Fund, 26 Gibbs St., Rochester, N.Y. 14604.
