Louis Diamond, 85, of Springfield died Feb. 11, 2017. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Springfield since 1971.
Mr. Diamond owned and operated Elizabeth Iron Works, a steel fabricator and erector family business that operated from 1907 until its closure in 1985, when he retired.
He received a B.A. from Rider University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Europe during peacetime in the 1950s.
He is survived by his wife, Frances (Berg); two daughters, Debbie and Shari Diamond, both of Springfield; his son, David Diamond of Hamilton; and a brother, Stanley Diamond of Scranton, Pa.
Services were held Feb. 16 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
