Loretta Waldman
Loretta T. Waldman (Goldfinger), 75, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Livingston died June 16, 2012. Born in Newark, she lived in West Orange before moving to Boynton Beach 12 years ago. She simultaneously maintained her Livingston residence since 2006.
Mrs. Waldman was a guidance counselor and teacher at West Essex Regional High School, North Caldwell, before retiring.
She earned a BA and MA in education from the University of Michigan.
She was a member of the Maplewood Country Club and the Hunters Run Country Club of Boynton Beach. She was a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, and was also the president of the League of Women Voters, the PTA of West Orange, and the West Orange Scholarship Fund.
Predeceased by her husband, Martin Jay, she is survived by three sons, Scott of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Steven of Marina Del Ray, Calif., and Andrew of Los Angeles; her daughter, Jill Parker of Short Hills; and six grandchildren.
Services were held June 17 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation.
