Lois Rothenberg

Lois Vivian Rothenberg (Kosson), 84, of Clifton died Jan. 6, 2015. She was born in Passaic. 

Mrs. Rothenberg taught English, Spanish, and Spanish as a second language at Pope Pius High School, Passaic, and was a guidance counselor at Passaic County Vocational High School before retiring.

She attended Syracuse, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Montclair State universities and received her master’s degree in education. 

She was a founding member of Temple Ner Tamid, Bloomfield, and was a member of the JCC MetroWest in West Orange and Hadassah. She was also a senior mentor at William Paterson University.

Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Emanuel (“Manny”), she is survived by her son, Jess (Edna Gonzalez Rothenberg) of Wayne; a sister, Sandra Gross of Lake Worth, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 8 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Ner Tamid.
