LITCHMAN-SHANKEN
Joyce and Marty Litchman of West Orange announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel, to Ezra Shanken, son of Dr. Leslie and Zev Shanken of Teaneck.
Ms. Litchman earned a BA in Jewish studies from University of Texas at Austin and did graduate work in social work and Jewish studies at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. She has spent her career working for the Jewish Federation movement and is director of learning and development for the Jewish Federations of North America in Manhattan.
Mr. Shanken received his BA in political economics from University of Hartford and did graduate work in non-profit management at Regis University. He is director of emerging leaders and philanthropists for UJA-Federation of New York and cofounder of E-3 Events, a Denver-based community organization committed to bridging popular culture and traditional Jewish values.
A December 2012 wedding is planned in Brooklyn.
