Leo Goldberg

Leo Goldberg, 94, of Springfield died Aug. 6, 2011. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Hillside for 13 years and in Springfield since 1968.

Mr. Goldberg was a salesman for Frank Millman Distributors, Inc., of Edison from 1960 until the present.

He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Young Men’s Hebrew Club of Newark. He was a past member and board member of Temple Shomrei Torah of Hillside and a member and past president of the Hillside First Aid Squad. He was a member of Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael of Springfield and its men’s club. He was also a member of Twin Brooks Country Club of Watchung and B’nai B’rith.

Predeceased by his wife, Anne (Millman), and son-in-law Barton Bloom, he is survived by two daughters, Jaye Bloom and Ruth Luciani; five granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 7 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions can be made to R.E.G.M, PO Box 94, Springfield, NJ 07081; the John LaConti Fund @ SBMC Development Fund, 94 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston; and the ALS Association of Greater New York.
