Leo Friedman

Leo Friedman, 92, of Aberdeen died April 6, 2012. Born in Mountaindale, NY, he lived in Brooklyn and Washington, DC, before moving to Aberdeen in 1963.

Mr. Friedman was a certified public accountant, working for many years at Rutgers University in New Brunswick as the assistant director of the auditing department before he retired.

He graduated from Pace University in 1952 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the China-Burma-India Theater. Mr. Friedman traveled the length of the Burma Road and flew over the Himalayas.

He was an avid reader, and enjoyed dancing and traveling.

Predeceased by his wife, Sylvia, and his companion, Charlotte Lynn, he is survived by two sons, Joel of Blairstown and Mitchell of Aberdeen.

Services were held April 9 with arrangements by Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home of Morganville.
