Leo Bergman

Leo H. Bergman, 101, of Encino, Calif., died May 29, 2012. He was born in New York and lived much of his life in Bayonne, retiring to West Palm Beach, Fla., before moving to California about 27 years ago.

Mr. Bergman practiced law in Bayonne until his retirement.

He graduated from New York University and received his JD from Rutgers University.

He served on the Hudson County Bar Association Ethics Committee and the Board of Education of Bayonne. He was also chancellor and deputy district commander of the Knights of Pythias.

Predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Gertrude, a daughter, Francine De Wet, and a granddaughter, Linda Weiss, he is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Perelman of West Caldwell; his son, Alan M. of Tarzana, Calif.; a sister, Bertha Kalmonson of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 3 with arrangements by Wien & Wien Memorial Chapel, Hackensack.
