Lawrence Lashen

Lawrence “Larry” Robert Lashen, 82, of Somerset died July 22, 2011. Born in Queens, he lived most of his life in White Meadow Lake and Parsippany.

Mr. Lashen founded Lashen Electronics Inc., an electronics retail/distributorship in Denville in 1960, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of White Meadow Temple, Rockaway, for more than 50 years. He was a founding member of the White Meadow Lake Fire Department, a past president of the Rockaway Township Lions Club, and a vice president of the White Meadow Lake Property Owners Association.

Predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Hutter), he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bernice Kaminsky-Lashen (Miller); two sons, Stephen and Howard; his stepdaughter, Felice Mirsky; two stepsons, Scott and Lawrence Kaminsky; a brother, Edward; a sister, Dorothy Schwartz; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 24 with arrangements by Jewish Memorial Chapel of Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Montgomery, Ala., or White Meadow Temple.
