Laurette Gold
Laurette Gold, 96, of Bayonne died July 19, 2014. She was born in Brooklyn and lived in Bayonne since she was six months old.
Mrs. Gold spent her career teaching in the Bayonne Public Schools before retiring almost 30 years ago.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Jersey City Teachers College.
She served as the president of the Bayonne Federation of Teachers, which she helped found, and in 2009 received the Silver Medallion award from the Bayonne chapter of the American Conference on Diversity.
Predeceased by her husband, Jack, she is survived by her daughter, Greta (Fred) Goodman; her son, Bill (Erika) of Maplewood; five grandsons; and a dear friend, Terry Livingstone.
Services were held July 21 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
