Laurel Himmelblau, 84, of Livingston died March 1, 2014. Born in Newark, she resided in Irvington before moving to Livingston in 1956.
A homemaker, Mrs. Himmelblau was also an avid collector, especially of stamps and coins. She was a philanthropist to many charities, a member of Hadassah, and an animal lover.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean (John) Knott of Mendham and Nancy of Somerset; her son, Marc of Killington, Vt.; and a grandson.
Services were held March 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, East Hanover; Alzheimer’s Association; or Deborah Hospital Foundation, PO Box 280, Brown Mills, NJ 08015.
