CobraWrestling

THE KUSHNER ACADEMY Cobras tied for first place in the annual Henry Wittenberg Wrestling Tournament, a national yeshiva league competition. The 2019 competition was held Feb. 13-16 at The Frisch School in Paramus.

The Cobras had a strong performance as all 11 of their point scorers placed in the tournament individually. The team also set a record for their number of finalists and champions. Joseph Wolkoff, Daniel Peikes, Max Yarkony, and Yitzy Peret were the champions. Finalists included Tani Shechter, Jeremy Katz, Jacob Elstein, Ilan Cohen, Yoni Ifrah, Joey Dresdner, and Hanoch Elkin.

“It’s not as much about the winning or the losing, it’s about the effort they give and I am very pleased with how the team competed this year,” said Coach Mike Ciavarro.
