On Tuesday, Feb. 7, more than 350 community members of all ages came together to knead for those in need at Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ’s third annual Community Challah Bake. The event took place at two locations — the Community FoodBank in Hillside and Gottesman RTW Academy in Randolph, scene of the first Challah Bake Junior.

Participants braided and baked more than 1,000 challahs for the clients of Jewish Family Services of Central NJ and MetroWest, the Bobrow Kosher Food Pantry, the Jewish Relief Agency of MetroWest, JCC Kosher Meals on Wheels, the Greater Newark Conservancy, the Community FoodBank of NJ, and the residents of Lester Senior Housing Community.

The Challah Bake was chaired by June Schechner along with the leadership of Felice Flitt, chair of the Center for Volunteerism, and Robin Polson, vice president of outreach for Women’s Philanthropy; Challah Bake Junior was chaired by Ellen Ezra and Adrienne Lewin.
