Julius Ziperstein
Julius Ziperstein, 98, of Summit died Sept. 20, 2013. He was raised in Jersey City and lived in Union for 56 years before moving to Summit three years ago.
Mr. Ziperstein opened a hardware/paint store in Jersey City across from City Hall for more than 50 years. He was known as “Zip” to his customers and friends.
He was a former member of Summit Jewish Community Center.
Predeceased by his wife of 72 years, Lillian (Kutchinsky), in 2012, he is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Robert) Shiff of New Providence and Leslie (Harvey) Finkelstein of Glenville, NY; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 22 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish National Fund.
