Joy E. Krauss

Joy E. Krauss, 79, of Westfield died Jan. 7, 2011. Born in Newark, she lived in Cedar Knolls and Florham Park before moving to Westfield 50 years ago.

Mrs. Krauss was vice president of J.M. Kesslinger Advertising in Springfield, where she worked for 25 years, retiring in 2000.

She graduated from Smith College with a bachelor’s degree.

She was a volunteer at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, and also handled press relations for the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.

Predeceased by her husband, Mitchell, she is survived by her son, Bill of Los Angeles; two daughters, Susan Krauss of Alameda, Calif., and Caroline Bogart of Litchfield, NH; and two sisters, Mickey Levine of Maplewood and Judy Deitz of Mountainside.

Services were held Jan. 9 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
