Joseph Stanley Grubstein, 79, of Springfield died Dec. 26, 2010. Born in Newark, he resided in Irvington and Hillside before moving to Springfield many years ago.
Mr. Grubstein was an accounts payable manager for the Monsanto Company, Kenilworth, for 14 years. Later, he was employed in the same capacity by Columbia Pictures in New York City for 10 years, at Korvette’s for nine years, and for Island Records in New York City, for 10 years before retiring in 1986.
He was a 1953 graduate of Rider College with a BS in business.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Cecile (Lippey); two daughters, Mindy Schwartz of Fanwood and Karen Jacobowitz of North Haven, Conn.; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 28 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
