Joseph Krimko
Joseph Krimko, 73, of Ocean Grove died March 20, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Neptune for more than 40 years.
Mr. Krimko served as mayor of the Township of Neptune in 2001 and was a member of the Neptune Township Committee, 1998-2003. A lifelong public servant, he served on numerous town boards and commissions, including the Fletcher Lake and Wesley Lake commissions, Lake Alberta Committee, and the Economic Development Corporation; he was also a Region 12 Watershed representative. He was a member of Washington Fire Company in Ocean Grove, the Ocean Grove Police, and the Planning Board Subcommittee on the Neptune Township Master Plan; and was past president of the Neptune Township Library board of trustees. He was a former District Leader, Neptune Township Democratic Committee. At the time of his death, he was vice president of the library board of trustees and a member of Neptune’s Planning Board.
He attended Brooklyn College and Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
He is survived by a brother, Lloyd, and a sister, Bonnie Komito, both of Manalapan, and many nieces and nephews.
