Joseph John Kelter, 91, of Edison died Sept. 11, 2012. Born in Middletown, Conn., he lived in Brooklyn before moving to Edison 25 years ago.
A physician, Dr. Kelter maintained a private practice in internal medicine and cardiology in Brooklyn for many years, retiring 12 years ago.
He earned his MD from New York University Medical School.
He served in the Army during peacetime from 1945 to 1947.
Predeceased by his wife, Viola (Ades), and a son, Jonathan David, he is survived by a son, Richard of Morganville; his daughter, Julie Timins-Lupatkin of Morristown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 12 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
