Joseph Horowitz
Joseph Horowitz, 84, of Springfield died May 19, 2011. Born in Newark, he had been a resident of Springfield for over 50 years.
Mr. Horowitz was an attorney and partner with his son, Victor, in Horowitz & Horowitz in Perth Amboy for over 45 years. He also served as a municipal judge in Springfield.
He graduated from New York University’s Law School in 1952.
He was secretary of SCORE, a member of the Jewish Historical Society, governor of the Maplewood Country Club, and former president of the Middlesex County Bar Association.
Predeceased by his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his wife Marylin Schneider; his son, Victor of Lebanon; his daughter, Judith Eiss of New York City; a sister, Marjorie Grossbarth of Springfield; and four grandchildren.
Services were held May 22 at Temple Sha’arey Shalom, Springfield, with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
