John L. Pasmantier, 58, of Paris died July 18, 2015. Born in New York City, he grew up in West Orange. He resided in Paris for more than 30 years.
Mr. Pasmantier was a longtime employee of the International Herald Tribune (now International New York Times) in Paris.
He attended West Orange High School and the Juilliard School in New York City. He graduated from Harvard University, where he studied French and German literature.
A skilled percussionist, he was a member of the South Orange Symphony Orchestra in his youth.
Predeceased by his father, Paul E., he is survived by his wife, Isabelle (Benderli); two children, Alexandre and Chloe; his mother, Jeanne of South Orange; and a sister, Kathy Oliver of Surrey, England.
