John Lipsey
John C. (Jack) Lipsey, 84, of Delray Beach, Fla., died Sept. 2, 2015. Known to his family and friends as “Honey,” he was born and raised in Chicago.
Mr. Lipsey spent his career in the insurance industry, achieving the roles of senior vice president for The Prudential Insurance Company of America, president of Home Life Insurance Company, and cofounder of Personal Lines Insurance of South Florida.
He was a graduate of New York University and also attended The University of Chicago.
He was a past president of a number of community organizations, including American Jewish Committee’s Metro NJ Region, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ, American Jewish Committee of Palm Beach County, and Delaire Country Club of Delray Beach.
Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Elise (Gross), he is survived by his son, William (Amy) of Livingston; two daughters, Laura (Geoff) Witheford of Wellesley, Mass., and Abby (Jon) Winkelried of Aledo, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Sept. 6 with arrangements by Gutterman Warheit Memorial Chapel, Boca Raton, Fla. Memorial contributions may be made to benefit the Revutah program at The Masorti Foundation for Conservative Judaism in Israel, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 832, New York, NY 10015.
