Joel Selikoff

Joel S. Selikoff, 74, of Princeton died June 1, 2014. Born in Newark and raised in Kearny, he was a former resident of West Orange and East Windsor.

In 1976 Mr. Selikoff founded the law firm Joel S. Selikoff, which later became Selikoff-Cohen, PA. He was a pioneer in the development of laws protecting New Jersey’s public employees and was in the forefront of the emerging field of employment discrimination law. He was a founder of the New Jersey chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association. 

He was a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers School of Law-Newark.

He was honored for his work by being listed in Best Lawyers of America from 1989 until his retirement in 2013.

He is survived by his wife, Isabella Mohl Selikoff; his son, Jonathan (Lauren); and a grandson.

Services were held June 3 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
