Joan Paszamant
Joan S. Paszamant (Stein), 86, of Edison died Oct. 19, 2015. She was born and raised in Elizabeth.
Mrs. Paszamant worked for a former professor, Oscar Buros, as manuscript editor at Mental Measurements Yearbook, and subsequently as a managing editor at Educational Testing Service in Princeton.
She attended schools in Elizabeth. She attended Bucknell University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Douglass College at Rutgers University. Later she returned to Rutgers’ Graduate School of Education, where she obtained an MEd in educational psychology.
She enjoyed playing bridge, sports, and travel, including bicycle tours in Europe, Canada, and the United States. She was a longtime member of the Lifestyle Fitness Center.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert G., in 1996, she is survived by two daughters, Carol B. Paszamant (Joseph Vincze) and Janet A. (John) Kubeck; her son, Roger B. Paszamant (Vincent Bernhard); and three grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 21 with arrangements by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Environmental Defense Fund or National Foundation for Cancer Research.
