Jill Holtz

Jill Marissa Holtz, 49, of Livingston died Feb. 5, 2012. Raised in New City, NY, she moved to Livingston in 1995.

Mrs. Holtz was a homemaker who began her career in cosmetic marketing.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984.

She was a member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun and former board member of its Women’s Association. She was also the immediate past president of the Penn Club of Metro NJ and was a member of Cedar Hill Country Club, Livingston.

She was honored recently with the Courage Award by the Voices Against Brain Cancer Foundation at its walkathon in New York City’s Central Park. A runner, she completed a half marathon in New York City shortly before being diagnosed with brain cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Alan D.; two daughters, Barrie and Rachel; her parents, Marigold and Morton Sanders; a sister, Michelle Hornstein; and a brother, Michael Sanders.

Services were held Feb. 7 at B’nai Jeshurun with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Neuro-oncology Research Fund, Attn: Dr. Lisa DeAngelis, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065.
