JFS MetroWest to honor Cohen family, survivor services
JEWISH FAMILY SERVICE of MetroWest will hold its annual benefit event, An Evening of Laughter, on Thursday, June 6, at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael, Springfield.
At the event, JFS will honor its Holocaust services division as well as Fred Cohen, Seth Cohen, and Erica Cohen Rechtweg.
The agency supports Holocaust survivors and their families with counseling, case management, therapeutic socialization at Café Europa, referral and advocacy, assistance with reparations, crisis intervention, and home-care services.
The Cohen family has supported JFS MetroWest, beginning with the late Ellin Cohen, who took part in the creation of Café Europa. Family members have served on the JFS board, with Fred currently serving as treasurer. Seth and Erica have attended Café Europa events and participated with Next Generation @ JFS MetroWest.
The evening will also feature popular magician and comedian Ben Seidman and the Rose Raffle, organized by Next Generation @JFS.
