Jerry Gutwetter

Jerry H. Gutwetter, 90, of Saddle Brook died Oct. 18, 2014. He formerly lived in Essex County.

Mr. Gutwetter was a teacher in Saddle Brook for 30 years. He also managed Cabana Club in West Orange for 20 summers. 

He earned his BA degree in education from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis; two sons, Michael W. (Roz) of Ramsey and David J. (Caren Yegelwel) of Glen Rock; his daughter, Jill Singer of Santa Fe, NM; and six grandchildren. 

Services were held Oct. 20 with arrangements by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel, Paramus. Memorial contributions may be made to Helen I. Smith School in Saddle Brook, Glen Rock Jewish Center, or Jewish National Fund (for trees in Israel).
