Jerome Westreich

Jerome “Jerry” Westreich, 96, of Maplewood died Oct. 16, 2018. Born in Newark, he resided in Maplewood for 68 years.

Mr. Westreich was vice president and general sales manager for Crestcard Company, a family business for over 20 years. Afterward, he worked as an accountant for a large brokerage firm in New York City and then later as an auditor for the State of New Jersey, retiring in 1987.

He graduated from high school in 1939 and earned his bachelor of science from Rutgers University in 1973 while working full time.

He served for three and a half years with the U.S. Army in World War II as a medic with the Corps of Engineers.

Predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Ethel, he is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Weinberg of Warren; two sons, Philip of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kevin of Reisterstown, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held Oct. 18 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
