Jerome Rose

Jerome Rose, 104, of Maplewood died March 20, 2018. Originally from Bayonne, he also lived in Lake Worth, Fla.

Mr. Rose, a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School, was the oldest surviving member of his class. A practicing attorney and developer, he was a founding member of the Jewish Community Center of Bayonne, active in Temple Emanu-El in Bayonne, a member of Maplewood Country Club, and involved in civic affairs throughout his life. 

Predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Pauline; his companion, Mae Levy; and a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Renee, he is survived by his partner, Millie Pollack; a son, Stephen (Jacqui) of Mountainside; his daughter, Julie (Christopher) Gordon of Massachusetts; a sister, Ruth Harris of New York City; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held March 22 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Emanu-El or the Winchester Gardens Scholarship Fund, Maplewood.
