Jerome Kaplow
Jerome Samuel Kaplow, 93, of Westfield died Feb. 4, 2015.
Mr. Kaplow spent most of his working life as an executive in the automobile business. In addition to managing Loprete Motors in West Orange for 25 years, he was executive vice president for Checker Motors in New York for 20 years, popularizing the Checker taxi cab in Manhattan.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Richard of Westfield and Robert of Metuchen; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Feb. 6 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
