Jerome Granat

Jerome Granat of Boynton Beach, Fla., died Jan. 10, 2011. Born in Brooklyn, he lived most of his life in West Orange before moving to Boynton Beach in 1998.

Mr. Granat founded and operated Jerome Granat & Co., Accountants and Auditors in Union. He was the past president of Essex-Union County Society of Public Accountants.

He served in the United States Air Corps during World War II and was awarded the Air Medal in recognition for his gallant achievement while participating in aerial flight.

He was an active member of B’nai Shalom for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion; his daughter, Maureen Granat of Boynton Beach; his son, Michael of Livingston; a sister, Rose Berkowitz of Delray Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 12 with arrangements by Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels, Delray Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
