Jeanne Schwarz
Jeanne Schwarz (Spear), 90, of Chapel Hill, NC, died Jan. 27, 2014. Born in Montreal, as a young girl she moved with her family to Newark. She moved to Livingston in 1956, where she lived most of her adult life before moving to Fairfax, Va., for three years and to Chapel Hill late last year.
An early entrepreneur, Mrs. Schwarz co-founded the Penguin necktie company and later worked as an administrator for Market Measures in West Orange.
She was an active lifetime member of Hadassah and sang in the choir at Temple Beth Shalom, Livingston.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard L.; two daughters, Dale Schwarz (Guillermo Cuellar) and Cynthia (Mark) Lowenthal; her son, Roger (Kathleen Rounds); a sister, Anne Pokras; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 28 with arrangements by Howerton & Bryan Funeral Home, Durham, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston Hadassah.
