Jean Feldstein Beck

Jean Feldstein Beck of Livingston died Dec. 17, 2010. Born in Jersey City, she was raised in South Orange before moving to Livingston in 1952.

Mrs. Beck and her husband owned the Florham Park Pharmacy. For 45 years she managed the store’s growing retail operation and kept the books, while Stan oversaw the busy pharmacy.

She graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood.

She and her husband were strong supporters of the American Cancer Society, where they influenced a program, “Feel the Smile of a Child.” They also volunteered at the Valerie Center at St. Barnabas Medical Center for the past 12 years, where they helped pediatric cancer patients and their families, and also worked in a soup kitchen.

She is survived by her husband, Stan, whom she married in 1948; three sons, Steven, Jed, and Jim; her daughter, Toni; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 19 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jean and Stan Beck Fund for the Valerie Center at SBMC, West Orange.
