Janette Zimmerman (Reifer), 79, of Springfield died Oct. 14, 2012. Born in Queens, she lived in Newark, Hillside, and Maplewood before moving to Springfield in 1973.
Mrs. Zimmerman worked for over 10 years as the cashier at The Chicken Nest in South Orange.
She was a past president and life member of Maplewood-South Orange B’nai B’rith Women, now known as Jewish Women International. She was also a member of Oheb Shalom Congregation, South Orange.
She is survived by two daughters, Caren Manders and Robin Zimmerman, both of Springfield; two sisters, Esther Cheriff of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Leona Sanfilippo of Chapel Hill, NC; and two granddaughters.
Services were held Oct. 15 with arrangements by Ross’ Shalom Chapels, Springfield.
