Janet Kirshner
Janet Segal Kirshner, 90, of Hightstown died March 15, 2015. Born in Washington, DC, she lived in the area, including Bethesda, Md., for the first 80 years of her life before moving to Hightstown 11 years ago.
Mrs. Kirshner was a program coordinator for senior citizens of the Jewish Community Center from 1979 to 1996. She graduated from George Washington University in 1945 with a bachelor of arts in psychology and received a master of arts in counseling and personnel administration in 1949.
Throughout her adult life, she was an active member of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, Md., the National Woman’s Committee of Brandeis University, Beth El Congregation of Montgomery County, and the Commission for Women for Montgomery County. She was an active participant in the Meadow Lakes community where she resided.
Predeceased by her husband of almost 55 years, Joseph M., in 2004, she is survived by two daughters, Sandra K. (Isaac) Spetgang of Gaithersburg, Md., and Judith A. Kirshner (P. Joseph Campisi, Jr.) of Princeton; and six grandchildren.
Services were held March 18 with arrangements by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, Ewing. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, 1500 E. Jefferson St., Rockville, MD 20852.
