Jack Block

Jack Block, 95, of Queens died Dec. 10, 2015. 

A lifelong educator and professional musician, Mr. Block was a retired assistant principal in the New York City public school system.

He played violin, clarinet, and saxophone professionally; and was a music instructor and head of the waterfront at Jewish summer camps in the Catskill and Pocono mountains. 

He was a World War II veteran. 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margie (Wincelberg); two daughters, Sharon (David) Butler of Kemp Mill, Md., and Davida (Gary) Stadtmauer of West Orange; his son, Michael (Debbie) of West Hempstead, NY; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
