Irwin J. Samet, 86, of Monroe Township died Feb. 17, 2015. Born in Manhattan, he resided in Brooklyn before moving to Monroe in 1993.
Prior to his retirement in 1991, Mr. Samet was controller/office manager for UAW District 65, Manhattan, where he worked for 17 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II from 1947 to 1949.
He was a congregant of Jewish Congregation of Clearbrook, Monroe.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Katzman Samet; his son, Warren (Deborah) of Monroe; his daughter, Sandra Skolnick of Manalapan; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 20 with arrangements by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
